   I never really listened to John Peel but I did manage to catch the last few festive fifties between 2000 and 2003 before he died. It would be broadcast around Christmas time and I would stay up late just so I could record the whole lot onto cassette. And that’s where I first discovered The Strokes, The White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol. Here are my favourite ten tracks included on those lists. Surprisingly, they don’t include perennial Peel regulars The Fall.
